Order and challenge
Data integration in production
In the course of the digitization of its manufacturing processes, our customer planned to set up a modern and agile integration architecture. The aim was to make the data exchange between the core applications and production systems both flexible and future-proof. This should enable seamless communication and data integration that meets the company’s current and future needs.
Another important part of this project was the implementation of a comprehensive end-to-end visualization and monitoring solution of the data streams of the integrated manufacturing processes. This solution should enable consistent monitoring of all processes from a single source to ensure high transparency, fast error detection and efficient problem solving. With these measures, our customer wanted to increase the efficiency and reliability of business processes and at the same time lay the foundation for future digital innovations.
In the first step, the solution should be implemented as an on-premises variant. A later migration towards Azure should be possible without much effort.
As the first integration scenario, the connection should be created between an on-premises hosted Navision instance and a hose manufacturing machine. This connection is intended to implement production order data and feedback on current production orders between Navision and the machine.

Data integration & visualization
Based on the customer requirements, we first created a proposal to set up a modern and message-based integration solution / middleware. This suggestion includes the use of Microsoft standard technologies for both on-premises and cloud integration scenarios, which we host on-premises in their data center as the customer wanted. The solution is supplemented by our integration framework DATA Passion Smart Connect, which offers additional functionalities and efficiency for data integration.

In a further step, we, together with the customer, decided to expand this integration solution with comprehensive company-wide process monitoring in order to ensure complete monitoring and optimization of the integrated business processes by the departments. In this area, the customer has decided on our product DATA PASSION PROCESS MONITORNG and introduces it together with us.
Our proposals convinced the customer and the coordinated implementation was approved.
